A few things worth knowing.

Download the map, search data and routing network before you go. Maps, local search and supported routes can then work offline. Reconnect before setting out: starting navigation requires restriction information updated within the last 24 hours, and a restricted route cannot be started. This is not a live closure service. Downloads are free; voice guidance requires Premium.

Open Settings → Map and offline maps, select your ski area and download the package. Keep the app open and use Wi-Fi for larger downloads. Check that the package is ready offline before leaving your connection behind.

No account is needed for core maps, standard route planning or foreground visual navigation. Sign in to save routes to your account, purchase Premium or restore purchases.

Premium adds voice, background and lock-screen navigation, red-run difficulty limits and avoidance preferences, a higher Google place route allowance, and unlimited saved routes synced across devices.

Location is requested when you ask for your current position or start location-based navigation. Active Premium navigation can continue in the background. End navigation in the app, or change access in iOS Settings.

The app and this website support English, French and Simplified Chinese. Voice availability depends on the voices installed on your device.

No. Mountainmapper is a planning aid and does not provide live closure information. Data can be incomplete or out of date. Always follow resort signs, closures and staff instructions, and consider weather and terrain conditions.
